Digital Identities examines how we negotiate, define, and defend ourselves in the digital sphere
How do we define ourselves in this moment of primarily digital connection? There is a fundamental shift happening in our understanding of the self in the world. In the fight for Black lives and the COVID pandemic, our culture is struggling between individualism and collectivism, between selfish oblivion and critical self analysis and healing. These issues are deeply personal and yet deeply systemic. In the work of all of these artists, we can see them examining their individual identities and exploring the shifting concepts and conversations around identity, self-presentation, healing, and emotional engagement in our digital sphere.
