BROWN FUTURISM

by Azteca Sirias

REMEMBER OUR FUTURE: THE BLACK MOTHER

This is a manifestation of indigenous futures. Starting at our source, Black women are our mothers. As brown people, we must remember this within ourselves and transcend it into the future. Her liberation is the divination of us all. We must remember our future to honor Her in our present. Remember who you are...

SIRI(A/U)S B: A BROWN INTERGALACTIC FILM

We are envisioning our brown bodies in the future and throughout outer space. This is a reclaiming of our lineages and understanding of the power we hold as brown people. In these intergalactic travels we find our Self’s. This Self is an embodiment of all things in and around us. At the intersection of time, space, and energy, we are Self.

Sirias Movement is a Brown creative collective directed by Azteca Sirias. The collective is a transdisciplinary platform that researches indigenous truths and experiences. Azteca's background is in dance and computer science. Although the two are seemingly separate, they have distinctively revolutionary intersections that are explored through Sirias Movement. The collective transforms indigenous narratives and reconnects the community to its source at present. Ultimately, the collective proposes ways to free and transcend time and space.
